Chef Omar Anani, a Palestinian-Egyptian American, owns Saffron De Twah, a James Beard-nominated Moroccan bistro in Detroit. A two-time Best Chef – Great Lakes finalist (2022, 2023), he also founded Michigan’s first halal food truck. In 2023, he won Chopped: All-American Showdown, representing the North. His food trucks and brick-and-mortar restaurants have featured cuisine from multiple cultures, fusing flavors and textures from all around the world.
