We’re excited to announce the launch of a new line of products from Mammoth Distilling. Our Borrowed Time category will feature limited lots of exceptional quality spirits that we discover through collaborations and relationships with other distilleries across the country and around the world. Some will be released in bottles, others may only be featured through a special cocktail in our tasting rooms.
As the Borrowed Time name suggests, there are things that, for a variety of reasons, can’t be made in Northern Michigan (e.g. tequila) or couldn’t have been made in the amount of time we’ve been in business (e.g. 15-year rye). Many customers have expressed interest in products like these, and the opportunity for us to deliver them enhances the value of our brand for them.
“We’re out in the world all the time, constantly learning more about the art and science of distilling,” shares Chad Munger, Founder and CEO of Mammoth Distilling. “During that journey we occasionally discover products that are truly spectacular, resonating with the interests of our customers and helping us create better and more innovative products of our own.”
When such finds meet the standards of our brand, we bring them home and make them available through the Borrowed Time product line. It could be a 20-year Scotch whisky, a craft tequila from Mexico or a great Kentucky bourbon. If the lot contains enough product to release in bottles, it will carry the Borrowed Time designation on the label; if the supply is more limited, our customers will be able to experience it through cocktails, classes and sampling in our tasting rooms.
Our Hand Hewn product line will continue to represent all the spirits we produce from scratch, or heavily craft through other distilling techniques. The clear designation between Hand Hewn spirits and Borrowed Time spirits allows our customers to understand the story behind each product they purchase from us, be it one we crafted or one we found.
“We take our reputation for product recommendations very seriously, and want our customers to know that Mammoth brings the best spirits to the world from our home in Northern Michigan. Some we make, some we find, but all are remarkable examples of finely crafted products. The transparency between the Hand Hewn and Borrowed Time designations is how we are clarifying their origin in the marketplace.”
The first product released under the Borrowed Time designation will be announced in May, so stay tuned for more information soon!
